Inaugural Shoot for a Cure Tournament
The event is hosted by Iroquois High School and sponsored by Hamot Health Foundation.
As 2025 comes to a close, a new high school girls' basketball tournament will tip off in Erie, spotlighting regional talent while raising funds to support local pediatric cancer research.
The tournament will feature four teams from northwest Pennsylvania.
- Clarion Area (Clarion)
- host Iroquois (Erie)
- Rocky Grove (Franklin)
- Saegertown (Saegertown).
Event Details
The event takes place Monday, Dec. 29, and Tuesday, Dec. 30, with all proceeds supporting HHF’s Children’s Care Fund and its efforts to improve care and outcomes for pediatric cancer patients.
All four games will be played at the Thomas C. Barringer Gymnasium at 4301 Main Street, Erie, PA 16511.
Iroquois High School athletic director Michael Kujawinski was a driving force behind the tournament.
The Shoot for a Cure tournament is open to the public. One admission price allows attendees to view both games for the day they attend. Adult tickets are $4, and Student/Senior tickets are $2.
Monday, Dec. 29
- Clarion Area vs. Saegertown at 6 p.m.
- Iroquois vs. Rocky Grove at 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Dec. 30
- Consolation Game at 6 p.m.
- Championship Game at 7:30 p.m.
