UPMC Magee-Womens Pregnancy and Women's Recovery Center

The Hamot Health Foundation played a key role in establishing the Women’s Recovery Center in Erie — a life‐changing program that supports pregnant women and mothers facing substance use disorders.

Through philanthropic partnership, HHF helped bring this initiative to our region, enabling clinical services, outreach support, and peer recovery specialists who help mothers and children build healthier futures.

In its first year locally, the program delivered a remarkable outcome:

Every baby born through the program avoided a NICU stay related to maternal substance use. This achievement reflects HHF’s commitment not just to care, but to transformation — supporting programs that meet deep needs, restore hope, and strengthen families in our community.
