I went to a routine doctor’s appointment on Feb.21, 2022, at which time they sent me to the women’s hospital.

I was informed that I needed to stay until the baby was born because my cervix had thinned out. I was 23 weeks 3 days. I remained in the women’s hospital with all of the wonderful staff on the 3rd floor until my daughter, Kamryn, was born on March 20, via emergency C-section. I was 27 weeks 2 days. My daughter received excellent care while in the UPMC Hamot NICU. She was released on May 19, 2022, one month shy of her projected discharge date.

Since being in the NICU, we have returned a few times and are appreciative of all the UPMC Hamot NICU staff and the excellent care they provided during our time there. My daughter is now 14 months old and is healthy, happy, and full of life.
